Antoinette Acosta Young

I am excited and honored to be working with mothers, fathers and newborns. I am a beginning doula who wants to gain experience by working with all types of families. A doula is a person who assists you through your labor and delivery. I have many of the qualities that make a great doula: compassion, patience, enthusiasm, and love. I am a mother of two sons, one born at Cottage Hospital and one born at home so I am familiar with both birth settings. I am particularly aware of the special needs and blessing of young single mothers since I was one myself. I will be able to draw on these experiences while supporting you through the birth of your child. I am in the process of completing my DONA certification. Services that I offer as a doula are: two prenatal visits, assistance in writing a birthplan, lending library, support from early labor to first hours after birth, two post partum visits and monthly calls for a year after birth. I am also very interested in babywearing and can answer questions you might have about slings and wraps. Please feel free to call me if you feel I might be the doula for you and your growing family.
