My Philosophy~

I look at childbirth as one of the few miracles that we are able to experience in our lifetime.  It is such an honor for me to be a witness to your miracle.

Childbirth is an experience that a mother will remember for the rest of her life.  Childbirth is a time to nurture the mother.  A time to help her feel safe and loved.  A time to mother the mother.  
I believe in listening to the mother and her partner and doing the best that I can to address their wishes and their fears.  I provide them the information so that they can educate themselves and make informed decisions for their childbirth.  

My Background~

I have had Birth Doula training through Doulas of North America (DONA).  In April 2005, I attended a Midwifery Skills workshop through our local Midwives. In May 2005, I had Advanced Doula training through Childbirth International (CBI).  In addition to my training, I have attended several births, both in-hospital and home births.  I also draw on my own personal experiences with the births of my children. I am currently in the process of earning my Diploma of Childbirth Education.
